French Pastry Fairy?
Okay, so probably the most random thing ever happened today. When I arrived at work, sitting outside our door was a box of palmiers (the french cookie) with a note on it that read "Saisons Gratins from Laura Bush". I can only assume that it's some kind of inside joke intended for my boss (who is out of the office), but I'm lost.
Three questions immediately come to mind: 1) Why is Laura Bush in my building after hours and how does she know that I like palmiers? 2) Is that really how you say "Seasons Greetings" in French? 3) If I get hungry this afternoon and eat said cookies, does it mean that I'm endorsing the Bush family? Should I hold out for some cookies from Teresa H.K. instead?

Here are some answers to your questions:
1.) Perhaps Laura has a key or is friends with the old dude who owns your building. I do think I remember him being a big GOP supporter. Also, Laura is just that Stepford Wife-y to know your favorite French pastry.
2.) No. Saisons is seasons, but gratins acutally translates to gratins (like potatoes au gratin). Someone who actually spoke French wouldn't have said it like that
3.) Yes, but if you quickly follow this with the use of some ketchup or mustard from Heniz you'll be fine.
Did you ask your boss what this was about?

Okay, so it's not half as exciting as I thought. Apparently, we have a client who stops by to drop off a treat when she's in the neighborhood, and usually brings Palmiers. Also, she's apparently a huge Hillary Clinton fan, and not so much of a LB fan and usually makse some kind of comment about it, so it was a reference that the boss got that I didn't.
I like your answers Jess, although, under no circumstances am I ingesting ketchup.
