Sports! People talking about Sports!

-- As of yesterday, I don't think I can be a Red Wings fan anymore. Did you see who they signed as "goalie" ?? Sorry, K, I don't completely agree with your assessment that he "won" 2 Stanley Cups. I'll always remember him as that kid who cried his eyes out after losing to San Jose- not exactly his finest hour. More than anything, I think it's a pathetic commentary on the state of the NHL that all of the good teams are forced to dismantle them and shuffle the talented players around to small market/ terrible teams. Rather than "spreading the wealth", I think all they're doing is making a bunch of mediocre teams in a league that was already losing viewership and fans. If I saw Gary Bettman or the guys from the NHLPA on the street, I think I'd punch them in the balls.

-- On to sports that I DO care about... Countdown to Michigan football kick-off is: 25 Days, 3 hours, Fourteen Minutes & 35 seconds.

- Chad Henne: "I talked to John Navarre last year around the Notre Dame game. He gave me some inspiring words and told me just to stay calm and just play your game." Inspiring words from Box of Rocks? Hmm....
- Coach Carr on what he needs from the defense this season ... "We'd like to tackle the quarterback." Whaaat? You mean you can tackle the quarterback? Last season's defense coulda fooled me.
