Worst. Secretary. Ever.

A client just called for me while I was in the restroom and our assistant did the following: 1) Yelled my name (more than once I might add) to try to get my attention; 2) TOLD the client I was in the bathroom; 3) Allowed the client to hold until I was back at my desk. HELLO? What happened to the good old, "She's away from her desk, can I take a message and have her call you?" It was not an urgent message, nothing that couldn't have waited the few minutes it would take for me to return the call. In what universe is it OK for this woman to have a job answering my phone??!!

PS. It's off topic, but do you think it's too late to give something up for Lent? I still might, just as a nod to my Catholic roots. Maybe we can give up paying our assistant? :)
